Dr. Friedrich Linhart

Dr. Friedrich Linhart is a European, German and Swiss Patent Attorney and also a European Trademark and Design Attorney. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Technical University of Darmstadt, a degree in General Engineering Science from Ecole Centrale de Lyon and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

Friedrich has substantial experience in various aspects of intellectual property law, including: the drafting and prosecution of patent and utility model applications, particularly in the fields of electrical, mechanical, civil, environmental and software engineering, opposition and appeal proceedings, law on employee inventions, patent litigation and nullity proceedings, freedom to operate and validity opinions as well as IP audits. He has also in-depth experience in the field of trademarks and designs as well as in drafting of IP-related contracts.

Friedrich worked with a small German, a medium-sized Swiss, a large American and a pan-European law firm as well as in an in-house IP department in the luxury goods industry before deciding to concentrate exclusively on Linhart Intellectual Property. During his patent attorney training, Friedrich also worked at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich as well as at the Regional Court Mannheim (patent litigation). In parallel, he successfully completed a complementary degree in civil law at the Fernuniversität Hagen as well as a degree in European patent litigation at the University of Strasbourg. His extremely broad and diverse technical and legal background enables him to offer a holistic, creative and high-quality service to his clients.
